Before arriving in Barbados, I had never traveled to the Caribbean. I had no idea what to expect other than what I’d seen from the photos. Kitesurfing in Sandy Lane Bay is notoriously breathtaking with the shallow, crystal clear waters. I was so lucky to find Casablanca on ThirdHome because I ended up staying right near the beach where I would typically launch my kite every day. The 8 of us wanted a simple kitesurfing trip for the weekend and we ended up staying in the most luxurious estate for super cheap. With internet.
When we pulled up, I was blown away by sheer size of the house. The gate opened and revealed this 7,800 sq ft paradise with a golf course in the back yard! We didn't even go inside at first but rather ran around to the back to see the huge infinity pool that overlooks a fairway. The back deck was so big and inviting that all I could think about is how big of a party could be thrown there.
We finally made it inside and started exploring. The kitchen is always my first stop and I immediately noticed the two huge 48” sub-zero fridges and the hibachi grill in the center island. I had chosen to include the chef in the package since there were eight people staying there. Well worth it. Alejandro was incredible and our tip didn't justify his true skill over the course of 3 days.
The bedrooms were wonderful and plush with large accommodating bathrooms in each. You have a lot of privacy at this home no matter which room you choose. When we weren’t hanging out in the kitchen, we spent most of our time in the TV/Theater room where they had Xbox1, PS4, tons of movies and more. Most nights after dinner, we’d head out and walk down to Red Door Lounge for some drinks.
This place truly outdid our expectations. It had super fast internet, and amazing chef, a secure convenient location near the beach, and it was close to island nightlife. I would definitely stay here again.
